• I’m using FreeHostia as my webhost. Fortunately, they have a Web Tools section in their control panel which installs WordPress 2.2.1 automatically. The database and pages are all setup correctly and I can access my blog from here – https://cavey.freehostia.com/wordpress/

Unfortunately, whenever I try to log in as the Admin it brings me to the error 403 page – You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

After scanning the forums, I decided to try some things…

I’ve added a .htaccess file to my /wordpress/wp-admin/ directory with the following line:

    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

This still did not fix my issue. I still get “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” after trying to log in as admin.

Does anyone have a blog running using WordPress with a FreeHostia account? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem. Help anyone!

    Hi Again,
I’ve just managed to access my blog.

Went into the Plesk dashboard, created a MYSQL database and
password for the database, then entered these values
    into the config file.

Can now log in as admin. Hopes this helps you all.

Hi i am useing wordpress that was provided by my hosting company. I create a blog that was easy. Then i created another blog using the same DB but only changed the Table Prefix. now when i tried to access the admin section i get “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”. But I can edit the parent blog. Can some please explain to me why this is? What my goal is to have multi blogs using the same database.

I had the same problem doing a wordpress install with Plesk 8.3.0. I solved it by:

    1. Deleting wordpress installation (which deleted the db) via the Plesk Control Panel

    2. Adding a new database in the Plesk control panel (don’t forget to add a user for this db)

    3. Downloaded the latest wordpress from this very site, and ran the 5 minute installation.

This took me less time than trying to comb through forums on both my host’s site and wordpress. And, I have a more current version of wp.

    ??
