I have many sites on the same hosting platform, and I’ve used WF on them for years now, but I’m just starting to receive the following error message from WF for “some” of the sites, not all.

“You have 0 B disk space remaining Type: Disk Space”

There’s nothing unusual for any of the sites. The theme’s are similar with no outlandish functionality being used on any of the sites. I can’t find anything in this forum that explains what this error message means, and how to address it. Can someone here please explain?

Note: there’s plenty of disk space in each instance as there’s no specific limit set on any of the domains that are receiving this error.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, I would recommend you to contact your hosting provider and ask them to check, I think there might be 2 reasons:
    1. Disc corruption and in this case ‘no free space’ will be false-positive, and if you are using a VPS(virtual server) so it worth to check the Hardware Node where your VPSes are hosted, and only hosting provider has such access;
    2. Some PHP functions are not enabled by your hosting provider, it might be something like “disk_free_space” and/or “disk_total_space”.

Hey, thanks for the response. I’ve checked disk space in the CP and my allotment isn’t tied to one or two hosting spaces. It’s allotted as a whole, across 90 potential domain spaces. And and even with the 50 domain spaces in use, I’ve got many, many gigs of space left.

    Disk Usage (MB)
    ( 22611 / 108000 )

I would also think, if there was/is a PHP issue, it would be server wide and all my domains using the WP plugin would be affected, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

It’s actually a VMS account I’m using and I don’t know how everything gets balanced, but I’d assume it’s not all neatly organized on one server, with one drive being suspect. I could be wrong on all this, but I’ll just monitor things for a bit and see if the issue resolves itself, or, if I keep getting the warnings. Then I’ll approach the server admins. And, BTW, when they “get wind” of it being a WP issue, they continue to voice that they don’t support WordPress, and especially not third party plugins.

Recently I received the same warning from a site hosted in a shared hosting account with enough free space:

    Used: 16959 MB / Allowed: 80000 MB

Any idea what could be the problem?

Ya, I’m getting more notices from other WP domains using this plugin now.

I am getting this exact error on some of my client sites as well… and they have plenty of space, so this is clearly a new WF issue with the latest version.

    Hi,
Thanks for bringing this issue to us, we got similar reports like this from different users and it seems to be that with certain server configuration the free disk space might not be detected correctly, the way we handle the disk space detection will be enhanced in the next update so that this issue will not exist, however we would appreciate your help in narrowing down the reason why your server is preventing this detection mechanism from working properly by sending diagnostics report to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com” including your forum username.

    Thanks.

P.S. you can send the diagnostics report from (Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Send report by email).
