• I received this message “You have been locked out due to too many invalid login attempts.” last night so I went into the DB and removed the blocked entires, then I was able to login. I went to login this morning and got the same message. How can this be if I use a random username no one would try using and I haven’t had any unsuccessful logins since I removed the banned entires? I have to do it all over again.

  • Hey @jgjh151

Is there any possibility that you still have a user called “admin” or other such common user name still active in your users table?

Two users only, no ‘admin’ or common name.

Looks like someone has guessed one of your usernames so. I’d suggest installing 2 factor authentication such as Rublon or Google Authenticator

How can you add a plug in when you have been locked out….seems you need to offer a solution that allows the person to get back to the dashboard before suggesting the next step. I am locked out of my WP install and I know I didn’t log in incorrectly. I was logged in just a few days ago just fine, and today, I got that error.
