  • Do you know h ow to get access to your site’s file via FTP or cPanel or something? That is the first step toward a solution.

Like apljdi mentioned, you need access to your website through an FTP client of some sort. And from there you need to change the permissions (otherwise known as CHMOD in Apache) of the file.

Most FTP clients allow you to change the permissions of your file.

755 is a good chmod value to set. If that doesn’t work try 777, but put it back to 755 after you are done doing your editing, as its unsafe since anyone is allowed to change the information of the file.

    Hope that helps ??

Cheers guys, but i have no idea how to access that. Im an utter noob to this, and am basically learning by pure trial and error, how would one access the FTP and/or cPanel?

…how would one access the FTP and/or cPanel?

That is information that would come from your web host. Any host has to provide you with a way to upload and download files. Most allow FTP access and many have backend ‘desktops’ like cPanel or Plesk. But you will need to check with your host for the details.

Ah, its OK, got in contact with the original designers and they said they will fix it for me.

Thanks for your help anyway guys
