• Hi,

When surfing to my website alpenretreat.com i get this:
Your browser is ancient! Site may not display or work correctly. Upgrade to a different browseror install Google Chrome Frame to experience this site.
    Close

Now, although his browser is out of date, I am sure he is not the only one, with an old browser. It is kind of rude telling someone their browser is ancient, especially because everytime he clicks on a new page the same message pops up. This makes it annoying also. How Can i make this somehow nicer, or remove it?

    Thanks,
    Ron.

  • Due to security concerns, advise your site visitors to use a modern browser. (period)

I don’t think that message is part of WordPress, so you need to know whether it is coming from a plugin or your theme. Once you know that it should be easier to find the best way to change it by a process of elimination.

Yes, there is, but currently what we call ‘browser wars’ exist each with their own implementation of this…

…do this: ask your ‘old’ browser user to review the ‘source code’, copy and paste it and then you put it on pastebin so we can see what they actually see in html (or see this and test your site in old browsers)

I’ve got the most current version of Firefox (15.0.1). If you click on the link to upgrade, you get choices of “up to date” browsers and one of those is Firefox version 15. What gives?

opjr: Are you referring to the same site as in the original post, or some other site? If you’re talking about some other site, then start your own thread about it instead of talking in this 3 month old thread.
