• Not sure how great this plug-in really is. Working with WordPress we all know that the URL permalink will automatically add dashes in between words in the URL and take capital letters and change them to lower case. If I put, for example, WordPress Posts as my keywords in the WordPress SEO by Yoast Focus Keyword section on a page and then try to add this exact term to the URL permalink it will remove spacing and caps and turn it into https://myurl.com/wordpress-posts/ – the Yoast Plug-in then says that my keywords do not appear in the URL, same goes for the actual Focus Keywords themselves. Am I incorrect in thinking that this should not be case / space sensitive? If I place my focus keywords as wordpress, seo, america and then have my SEO title as WordPress SEO in America the plug-in tells me that my Focus Keywords are not found in the page title?

Is anyone else having these same issues? Is it an issue? I am just not understanding the way this is supposed to work?

Any feedback or input from the developer would be great as I know that I am not the only individual to post these types of questions here in the past 30 days – the other posts don’t have any responses either.

  • This very occasionally happens with me too, but usually editing the slug to for example wordpress-posts-page will rectify the issue. You can always change it back to wordpress-posts if you prefer – amending the slug seems to cajole it into recognising the keywords. It’s definitely a bug.

I’ve tried this as well but it doesn’t seem to correct anything. There is also an issue with the keyword entry on this. If I enter “web, design, canada” the plug-in removes the commas and then expects to see “webdesigncanada” in the slug, description and page title.

Any help from one of the plug-in authors?

The plugin’s only designed to use one keyword so you are technically entering “webdesigncanada” as the keyword there… There’s an article about it somewhere on the Yoast site.
