    Hi there,

Yoast says my homepage cannot be indexed by search engines. Red dot.

Google mobile test works, and Ryte shows the site as indexable as well.

SERP shows the page also. So it seems all fine.

Only issue I have is that I find this red dot super irritating. Is there any way to get rid of it, without deactivating Yoast? What could be the cause for this?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • We can confirm that the site is indexable by Google. Since your site can be found by Google, to resolve the issue we suggest:

    1. Fetch the Current status. See this article.
    2. Ignore the issue. It is a false positive. You may also disable it. See this article.
    3. Sometimes, this warning can show when the Ryte crawler cannot access your homepage. This does not mean that your page cannot be indexed, just that Ryte is not able to access it. Yoast SEO uses the Ryte API to check the homepage status. Please, refer to this guide, which shows exactly how to go about troubleshooting this issue.
    4. We partner with https://en.ryte.com/ to provide courtesy scans of your site. Contact Ryte.com for more information as to why they are showing it as not indexed. You can contact them here.

If your site is appearing fine on Google, you can ignore this notice and deactivate Ryte indexability check from the Yoast SEO -> General -> Features (tab) to remove the red dot.

I have the same issue. I have used the wizard to indicate the site is now live, and have checked in the WP settings under reading that tick box ‘discourage search engines from indexing’ is not checked but I am still seeing this red dot notifiction

Excellent, Thank you very much for your help, Md Mazedul.

Strangely enough, I just went to the backend to disable it, and clicked one last time on “fetch current status” – and now it’s back to green. Haven’t changed anything…

But hey, it’s green, so let’s be happy. haha.

    Thank you!
