• I cannot get the 5 mintue install to work?

I’ve spent over 5 hours!!!!, and still I’m going round in circles.

Currently I have the following error…
Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPres
I’ve edited the php.ini file and uncommented the extentions relating to mySQL then restarted my PC but still it won’t work.

PHP is running fine and I can issue the PHPINFO() command and it works, I have installed mySQL v5.1 but cannot get wordpress 3.0.1 to install.

What am I doing wrong?

my Windows XP set up is….

WordPress v3.0.1
IIS v5.1
mySQL Server v5.1
PHP v5.2.14

Your PC? So you’re using a XAMP type thing? Which one. And which directions did you follow for setting up a web server on your local PC?

Nope; as I mentioned above, IIS 5.1 it comes with XP Pro.

Microsoft.

The webserver is running fine and PHP seems to be running fine also, it’s the PHP -> mySQL that seems to be the problem.
