I have the following error message. I have read all the other posts for an answer. Could not resolve it on my own, so I am posting this.

    Set up Site Kit

Your site may not be ready for Site Kit
Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.

  • Hello @kuberan ,

Thanks for reaching out to Site Kit Support Team.

The “google_api_connection_fail” notice may indicate that something at host level or outside your WordPress installation is resulting in you not being able to setup Site Kit. It looks like you have a Windows setup, with other users reporting encountering the same issue based on their PHP configuration.

In order to proceed with Site Kit setup can you ask your host provider if there are any restrictions such as WAF rules or PHP/SSL configurations which are not allowing your site to connect to https://sitekit.withgoogle.com?

If your host provide isn’t able to provide any additional insights feel free to share a video or screen recording of your experience, with Chrome developer tools open, showing any console errors which appear. You can use a service such as RecordIt or Loom to share.

    Thanks & Regards,

This is a self hosted WP site. It has IIS with PHP 7.4
There are application rules. What are the hosting requirements for Site Kit?

Can I try meeting the requirements first… and then make a screen recording for you?

    Hello @kuberan ,

There are application rules. What are the hosting requirements for Site Kit?

The minimum supported version of PHP for Site Kit is PHP 5.6 & its tested up-to WordPress 5.8.

Site Kit is totally based on Google Services so make you have no extra rules applied on server that could restrict your server to communicate with Google Services.

Can I try meeting the requirements first…

Please ask your host to apply following command in wp-cli just to make sure your server is not blocking Site Kit service for communication.

    wp eval 'print_r(wp_remote_head("https://sitekit.withgoogle.com"));'
