• Suddenly, all my blogs (self-hosted .com domains) have this message:

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog”

Stats have been working fine until suddenly today – no more stats.

This is for blogs where I have upgraded to 3.1 and for some I have not.

What can I do to fix this?

  • Couldn’t stay away. I called up the WordPress app on my Motorola Xoom, and this is the error message when I try to access Stats:

    unterminated entity ref (position:TEXT @15:83 in java.io. InputStreamReader@408c0ce0

    Make sense to anybody?

all ditto for me. I don’t trust this, “Use Jetpack”! fear marketing. I’m waiting for a formal response.

So, I went ahead and installed jetpack and everything is just fine. I guess the times are a changin’

Does the most popular links API bit that WP stats have, start working again with this Jetpack stuff?

Haha, just realized that – My popular posts tab has started over… At least it’s working.

I am hoping they can resolve my case of the “Timestamp” for my Jetpack plugin

Thanks silgringo – did the Jetpack stuff also put your times back to your blog’s timezone, instead of displaying UTC?

I have the same problems as everyone else here.

Problem is that I don’t WANT all the bells and whistles of Jetpack, I just want my stats back!

If this is the way that WordPress starts to push people into little boxes, then that is definately not a very good development! Just my 2cents…

    @seatek

It doesn’t look like it changed anything related to time. From the bottom of my new stats page just now:

    Generated 2011-03-17 01:01:14 UTC-4

that’s east coast us time. Seems normal.

For everyone else looking at this: Installing jetpack fixed the issue for the WP stats plugin but it reset the stats count for the WP popular stats widget. Everything else seems to be fine.

Just thought I would add to this. I’m in the same boat, suddenly stats were not visible, hopefully all of us posting will get someones attention.

    Hey,
I am also having the same problem. installing jetpack is not the solution as i haven’t seen any announcement from WP that jetpack going to replace stats.

I’ve been seeing this error intermittently on several of my blogs since last week. If I had to guess, I’d say it might be caused by a jump in wordpress.com’s server load since the upgrade to WP 3.1. It seems like the statistic image is generated (not cached) each time a page is loaded while the admin user is logged in.

I could be wrong, but a page refresh usually fixes the problem on my end.

Hey @silgringo thanks for the good info on that.

I just deactivated the wp stats and started using jetpack now, and things are looking right again, just as @silgringo described.

Yeah, it’s a sucky way for them to get people using jetpack if that’s what they’re doing. But I’m kinda liking what it’s giving so far…

I have the same problem too! But I had never heard of JetPack and didn’t install it – or any other new plugins recently so I don’t think it has anything to do with it (in my case, anyway). It seemed to be fine one minute and then gone the next – with that message.

Is it some world-wide problem that they’re fixing at WP? Or if we need to fix it ourselves, can someone please tell us how? (for those of us who did not install Jetpack or any other plugins – just another normal day…)

    Thank you!

where is the WP devs during all of this.. they HAD to know whatever changes they made would generate tons of questions and posts.
