• Suddenly, all my blogs (self-hosted .com domains) have this message:

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog”

Stats have been working fine until suddenly today – no more stats.

This is for blogs where I have upgraded to 3.1 and for some I have not.

What can I do to fix this?

  • got the same problem here.

    The new error message reads:
“Your WordPress.com account, —— is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account. “

I hope they fix it soon.

Some people say it’s just a WP trick to get money from its users.
Well IF it’s true, I want to make a suggestion for WP to get money without forcing its users to pay.

    Just follow Google Way.
Google could make a lot of money (its asset reached US$ 100 billion) without forcing its users to pay. Instead, users are Google asset. The more people use Google, the more money Google get.

Instead of having its users pay, Google earn a lot of money from ads.

FaceBook also provide free services for its user. When its users reach more than 400 million, FB also get a lot of money from ads. FB only use 10% of its users page for commercial.

I hope WP could follow the way. Provide free service for its users and get a lot of money from the ADS. Even the www.ads-software.com users by using 10% of the dashboard pages for commercial.

    That is a WIN-WIN solution!

    Official statement here:

Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account.

I just found this information from my blog https://www.mmogamesite.com So no worries! just wait hours.

It looks like WordPress is working on this, this morning I got the following message:

Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account.

Anyone else who hasn’t tried to fix it themselves getting this now?

I guess this problem will go away w/o us doing anything, Automattic is fixing it for sure as we speak. ??

I tried the Jetpack and it worked but it only showed the recent stats.. so, i deactivated it and activated the wordpress.com stats again and it showed the same message:

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account.”

I’ll just wait for them to fix it..

It’s pretty odd, Yesterday, when I looked at the dashboard widget for stats, instead of the graph i got the ‘WordPress is alreay installed, if you want to reinstall clear your database first’ warning (paraphrased, I can’t remember what it said exactly)

Today I have the same error you all are seeing.

I’m sure it will be fixed soon

Same situation here. The message seems to indicate that they’re aware of the problem and are working on it. I remember reading something that they’re switching from the Flash charts to a JavaScript chart solution so maybe that’s part of the problem.

“Your WordPress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account.”

    it seems good news.

@piet it really works…. did u try going to https://wp.me/p15tKX-AV the solution given here really works.. if u have any problems u can ask in the comment section

Update: My WP popular posts plugin seems to have recovered from the upgrade to jet pack. Everything is normal now. The stats interface is significantly improved as well.

ok solved the problem by deactivating wordpress.com stats and installing jetpack. Everything works fine, but can I remove the deactivated WP.com stats? will it screw things up? feel like removing it its useless sitting there.

I saw this happening and thought it was because I deactivated my plugin on my website. (Deactivating it sped up my site)
Then I reactivated it and got the error message. After a bit of tooling around, I was able to get stats again (While I was at home).

Now I’m at work, went to stats and there we go again, I don’t have access to this account. (The account I logged in to. Eh.)

At first I too thought that this was WP’s Microsoft-ish way of forcing folks into JetPack. But…

OBSERVATION: One clue that screams out at me is that there are no options to pick any website in the stats page. This is saying to me that something is wrong on the back-end of this situation and it’s not some sort of trick… I hope.

Though it sure would be nice if someone ‘in the know’ noticed the activity in this post and chimed in to let us know what’s up from their end. That does seem suspicious.

I’m hoping for the best though. They’ve never let me down before… that I know of! LOL.

still no official word from umm Word Press?

My stats are back now (without any action on my behalf), and the numbers are normal, so I assume no views are missing. Only the dashboard widget’s Top Posts and Most Active columns are still empty, but the full display (“View All” or via Global Dashboard) is complete.
