Yourls WP to Twitter Not Working

  • I am trying to use my install of Yourls on WordPress from a remote server. In the settings, I input the site information to call the yourls-api.php file from a remote server, and entered the username and password. When I check it, it tells me I have entered an incorrect username and password. I have verified the login credentials several times, and they work. I have even logged into my Yourls admin panel using these credentials. However, I can’t generate a short URL or post to twitter from WordPress after posts. It tells me the url shortening service I configured could not be reached.

    Using PHP 5.3, Linux with Apache Server, and WordPress 3.4. Yourls short url is hosted on Godaddy.com. WP blog on another server.

    Open to suggestions.
