    Hi,
I have installed the Youst SEO Plugin.
In the setup process, it requires me to do the following:

Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.

When I ftp to the website wp files, I am not sure which file contains the <head> section for the website.
Could someone please point me in the right direction, to where I would install the google meta tag?

    This would be much appreciated!
    Thank you ??

    Hello,

You will not need to add the HTML code to the <head> section, you will just need to copy the code and add it in the Yoast SEO plugin. Please feel free to refer to this article — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-connect-your-website-to-google-webmaster-tools/

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for responding.

I have been able to get the site google verified in the google search console by ftp uploading the google verification html file to my website files.

However, in the WP dashboard/youst/seo/search console, I am unable to get Youst to accept the google authorisation/verification code I get from the google search console ‘alternative method’ section.

Below is the information that the google search console ‘alternative method’ section displays
    1. Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.
    <meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”udQHo5oSAgQ0ysJebmk0XjgFvQ3rI7qIETNiJI803-g” />

This is what I enter in the WP dashboard/youst/seo/search console
    udQHo5oSAgQ0ysJebmk0XjgFvQ3rI7qIETNiJI803-g

Any pointers on what I may be doing wrong would be much appreciated? ??

You are mixing the Yoast SEO Search Console and Google Search Console property verification. Since you have already verified the Google search console property, you no longer need to use the same verification code while connecting the Yoast SEO search console.

Please, refer to our this guide which shows exactly how to go about connecting Yoast SEO Search Console to Google Search Console property.
