  • I wasn’t able to embed youtube videos either. The only solution I found was to download a youtube plugin.

    Yes it looks like the Marla Theme is wiping out the oembed. Could be nice to find a solution.

    any solution for this problem?
    In “edit post” the video from youtube looks fine, but on the site it doesn’t show up.
    Thanks

    Hi,

    Usually in WP we don′t publish iframes, just the URL of the video, oEmbed will convert the URL on a iframe.

    Anyway to solve this you can go to the Extra CSS code on the Marla customisation page and add this code:

    .entry-content iframe, .entry-content object, .entry-content embed {height:auto;}

    Let me know if that′s ok

    Best regards

    ah, but that is what I did, I went to add media, pasted the youtube url and then saved it. In the edit post view it looked fine, but didn’t show up on the blog.
    I have now added the code and it looks like this: https://seriouslyhilary.com/blog/?p=93 (the height is wrong)

    You don′t need to go to Add media, just paste the URL from YouTube like this

    if I do that I just see the link

    You added as a hyperlink, you should remove the link

    ah sorry!
    I copied it from your message and that was a link.
    now I have just pasted the link and as before it just shows up in the editor and not on the post.
    if I add the custom code, then it does show on the blog, but it is really small.

    With the custom code it will get the height with the perfect ratio to 510px width.

    I’ve added the code again and the video looks half size or something like that, can you have a look? https://seriouslyhilary.com/blog/?p=93

    thanks a million!!!

    You′re right, there′s a problem with the last update and videos, please remove the other code and add this to the extra code CSS and I′ll update the theme asap.

    .entry-content iframe, .entry-content object, .entry-content embed {position:absolute;}

    Cool, that works now! Thanks!

    I’m new to the whole WP thing, I am a bit worried about the new 4.0.1 update, it was not able to update automatically and I have downloaded the files but I am afraid to put in in my ftp incase it overwrites anything, I guess I should just make a back-up and go for it?

    I just sent a new update with this issue solved.

    It takes a few days the theme revision team to approve it.

    It always recommended that you have some backup before updating.

    Regards
