    Hello Complianz Team!
Thank you for your great job on the plugin!
Somehow, I’m running into an issue here…

On the website we have thumbnails of posts.
By clicking on a thumb, a modal window (WP Post Popup) will open and display the post’s content. The content always consists of a youtube or a vimeo video, which are inserted via the ARVE plugin. All videos are loaded directly without consent of the user, this shouldn’t be so…
When I open the post on a blank tab, the blocking of the video works partly, only for YT videos, but not for Vimeo…
So, I tried out a few settings (in Complianz, ARVE and also the WP Post Popup)
but none of it changed anything to a positive way…

In Complianz / Integrations I already tried an inserted a Script for YT (YT no cookies) but this does not have any effect…

Any help would be much appreciated!
    Best regards, Stefan

@fnkjd77, I’m not familiar with this setup, we’ll set up a sandbox to reproduce this and get back to you soon.

    Hi @fnkjd77,

Just as a quick update about this, I’m still in the process of reproducing the described configuration and I will report back my findings if any there’s any news about it.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @fnkjd77,

Could you start by ensuring that you have both the Vimeo and YouTube integrations activated under Complianz > Integrations > Services?

Upon doing so, navigate to Complianz > Settings > General and enable the slider next to “Enable advanced features”. Then scroll down to the Advanced features section and enable the “Cookie blocker for AJAX loaded content” setting.

That should make it work. I have a proof of concept with ARVE/WP Post Popup/Complianz and a YouTube video here: https://meespionage-goto.instawp.xyz/page-one/ (please ignore the lack of styling on the pop-up).

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi Jarno!
Thank you so much for your help!
Sadly that did not have any effect on my website..
Integrations / Services: both activated incl. placeholder
Envanced features: Ajax Content now activated
As I can see on your example, it should be working ??
My YT videos are loaded from youtube-nocookie.com – does this make a difference?
But still, for vimeo the issue is the same…
Would you like to have a look into the wp-admin?
    Best regards, Stefan

    Hi @fnkjd77,

Please make sure to not offer any form of login information/credentials, as the forum guidelines forbid this (for good reason) so this might land us both in trouble.

I haven’t tried Vimeo yet, but YouTube works fine on my end. Could you also try it with a regular YouTube URL and by disabling the “Use youtube-nocookie.com url” setting in ARVE?

As the intention is blocking the video’s entirely prior to consent, the above would be fine.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @fnkjd77,

In addition to the above, Vimeo works fine for me as well. I use the iFrame Embed code copied from the Vimeo page of that video, so could you try it with that iFrame embed code as well?

    Example with Vimeo: https://meespionage-goto.instawp.xyz/page-two/

I suspect the native Vimeo Embed block found in WordPress isn’t being blocked by default, as it concerns a “Do Not Track” version of the embed. So please use the iFrame, if you want these to be completely blocked prior to consent.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi again!
Thank you for all the time and effort!
Of course I wouldn’t post credentials here ??
    Sadly, nothing has changed…
    ARVE: youtube-nocookie deactivated now
Vimeo: made a test with the regular iframe embed from Vimeo.
When you have a look at the website, under “commercials” you’ll find two hidden items at the end of the grid (visually hidden, as they have white thumbnails). There you’ll find a YT and a Vimeo test video…
When opening “blank”, the blocking seems to work, but the consent message isn’t shown… I also cannot see a button to activate (neither in the HTML..)..
    Sorry, not that simple ??

    Hi @fnkjd77,

I don’t currently have any further leads as to why this works correctly on our end, but does not yet work on your site; while we’re using the same plugins and a very similar set-up.

Could you reach out to us via support(at)complianz.io, so we can compare the settings between your site and my test site?

Please attach a “System Status” report, which can be generated under Complianz > Dashboard > System Status, as well as an export of your Complianz settings (Complianz > Settings > Data > Export).

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @fnkjd77,

As this works on our end with the AJAX loaded content blocker activated, and as we have no further leads as to the difference with your environment: I’m going to mark this thread as resolved.

If further assistance is required, please contact us via support(at)complianz.io, this will allow us to look more closely into the difference(s) between your set-up and ours.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hello Jarno!
Thank you very much for your support! Much appreciated!
I sent an email to you last week with the requested info.
Maybe we can catch up this way…

    Hi @fnkjd77,

Strange, I don’t recall seeing any e-mails pertaining to this topic. If it was sent a week ago, you would’ve received an answer by now; we’re usually much faster than that.

Could you be so kind as to re-send the message to support(at)complianz.io and mention this WordPress thread in the e-mail, so that I know that it concerns this thread?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
