    Hello,

we’re using your plug-in for a blog within a site, of which posts sometimes contain a video and this video then have to replace the featured image.

The youtube api key we generated had worked well for the first videos implemented some months ago.

But yesterday it failed, although we have altered nothing with the key on googles project site. Nevertheless we created a new key, naturally without any restrictions. We tested it, and even this new one has failed again.

    What can we do?

    Kind regards

    Hi,

Can you please tell me the message you receive when you test the key in plugin Settings?

    Hi, Constantin,

thank your for your immediate reply. This screenshot shows the failure prompt: https://prnt.sc/spgqfe
And the following shot shows, that there is no restriction at the api setting on google console: https://prnt.sc/spgp6j (sorry for german language version, but you will recognize the settings as well, I think).
As I wrote, this has been a newly created api key. The former one has produced the same failure prompt. And there had been no changes from us within the api key or google project settings.

    Hi,

Thank you, all clear now. I have seen this before: even though access to YouTube Data API v3 is granted in the App, this error still appears. I really can’t say why this happens, haven’t found an answer anywhere.

The only solution I found that works is to create a new App (not generate a new API key but create an entire new App) and use credentials from it. Aside from this, whatever I tried I wasn’t successful.

    Hi,

OK. I think, “new APP” means new project in Googles console, right?

    Yes, you are correct.

    Hi,

problem solved with: creating entire new project which also means an whole new process with adding youtube key api v3 before creating the api key.

Hope this new api key works some time longer…

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

It should be fine from now on. If you have other questions just let me know.
