On https://www.hebamme-hirsch.de/, I have enabled the YouTube integration during the wizard and double-checked on the Integration settings afterwards to make sure it’s enabled. I also disabled my caching plugin, WP-Optimize, after clearing and disabling caching and minification.

Still, the website connects to ytimg.com to load the embedded videos’ preview image before consent is given. I was expecting a placeholder to be displayed instead.

I am using the Beaver Builder page builder, and the videos on this page are embedded using the “Video” module of the “Ultimate Addons for Beaver Builder” extension plugin.

How would I go about cutting that tie to YouTube’s servers?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello, I have enabled the YouTube integration with the wizard and checked the placeholder but when I reload the page it does not block youtube cookies and the placeholder does not appear.

Could you help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much

    Hi @marzamele,

As per the Forum Guidelines, would it be possible for you create a separate thread for your issue? Most-likely you have a different set-up than the user who posted this, so the solution would differ as well.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @mrmatteastwood,

I’ll get back to you about this; but I need to set up a test environment with this Beaver Builder add-on.

Could you confirm that this is the correct plugin? https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ultimate-addons-for-beaver-builder-lite/

    Kind regards,

    Hi Jarno,

Thanks for looking into it. Yes, that’s the right plugin. ??

    Hi @mrmatteastwood,

I’ve installed Beaver Builder and the add-on plugin, but I can’t seem to find a Video block that’s specifically added by UABB.

The only Video block that I see is the regular Video block in Beaver Builder itself, which seems to be different from the one on your website.

Any idea why that could be?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hello Jarno,

Cripes. It might be that the video module is only available in the Pro version of UABB. This is the module I’m using:

    https://www.ultimatebeaver.com/docs/video-module/

Perhaps there’s a chance the Ultimate Addons team might provide you a copy of the pro version for testing?

I can try replacing one of the videos using the standard Beaver Builder video module and report back. Perhaps that will give us some more insight about whether the issue might be related specifically to my website.

    Thanks,
    Matt.

    Hi @mrmatteastwood,

I might have an easy solution to this. I have checked their documentation and found that you should be able to change the thumbnails of such UABB Video’s to your own, custom thumbnail (instead of fetching it from the YouTube API).

Could you set that option to your own thumbnail? I’d expect the connection to “ytimg.com” to disappear upon making these changes (for all video’s on the page), as it won’t have to obtain any thumbnail images from the YouTube API any longer.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
