    Hello,

Having an issue using WordPress 3.6 and latest version of TablePress. When I use the embed ability of WordPress 3.6 for YouTube videos it will not show up in the table I have created.

I am using [embed] WordPress 3.6 shortcode.

I saw in a support post several months ago someone else having the same problem but no final solution was posted.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, it’s pretty tricky to add support for the [embed] Shortcode in table cells (it’s possible technically, but would have some performance drawbacks).
However, there’s maybe a working solution for you that will work without having to use any Shortcode at all! In fact, you can simply embed the YouTube video by pasting in the “Embed” code from the video’s page on YouTube. (For each video on YouTube, there’s an link “Embed” in the “Share” section, below the video, that will show some HTML code like

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/..." frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

That can be pasted into the table cell without problems and will work just fine, without having to use a Shortcode. It’s not as easy as pasting the URL, but it should at least work.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately this is not an option as the iframe does not show up properly from YouTube either in TablePress.

    Hi,

that’s is strange… Not sure why that is not working. Sorry ?? It might be possible that browsers still don’t like iframes in tables (which I have seen before, in some cases).
Can you maybe post a link to the page with the table? Maybe I can spot a reason.

    Tobias

    Hi,

another idea to try: Can you paste the Shortcode into a regular page/post and then copy/paste the resulting HTML code from the page (“View source” in the browser, when viewing it) into the table? Does that work?

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Sorry for deleted post above, I had written that I got this to work but thrm discovered it needed another look lol.

i’ve managed to put a video in the tablepress just simply by copying the iframe youtube code as you suggested above and was just updating this thread that it works.

thanks for your excellent plug-in and your superb customer support!

    Hi,

Good to hear that you already found a solution! ?? Yes, pasting in the embed code is the best choice here.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
