• Hi all, just a quick question.

I am looking for a plugin that will display a user-supplied list of videos – probably mainly from youtube, although other video sharing sites would be a nice bonus – in the sidebat, ie. as a widget.

The user this is aimed at is not well-experienced in using a CMS or a blogging platform, and will be doing all of their work through the control panel; so I am looking for something that is easy to configure. All of the plugins I have found so far involve doing things that are somewhat beyond the reach of the novice user, such as editing the address of videos to add a ‘v’, or using some sort of ‘shortcode’, like “youtube:453hij34o”.

What I am looking for is something that will just let her add a youtube address, or at worst, the alphanumeric video code, and will then do the rest itself, maybe show the 5 most recent or something in a widget.

Is there anything out there for this purpose? Or is it possible using some sort of combination of wordpress features, like post excerpts and a special category just for videos?

Okay, so after looking around a bit more, I have figured out how to just use the embed code for youtube and other video sharing sites in posts.

Which then leaves me wondering – is there any way to show thumbnails of videos in post excerpts? Or any plugin that allows this?
