Youtube not opening in a popup

Hi logicred, from my side the lightbox with video work fine. Maybe because I’m not logged in on Youtube?

Try visiting your site in an Incognito browser window. It depends on your browser how to go into Incognito mode. See https://browsers.about.com/od/faq/tp/Incognito-Browsing.htm fro examples.

Wow, thanks for this. You are 100% correct. Firefox doesn’t show the popup, but incognito mode works fine! Internet Explorer works fine out of the box too. I can’t understand why it doesnt work on Firefox without incognito mode on. I am not logged in to youtube and have all popup blockers disabled for the page. Interestingly image popups on the same page work fine with this plugin.

Just tested in Firefox (no incognito) and for me that works fine too … Is it because you are logged into your own site maybe?

Try this: In firefox go to the menu Developer > Web Console, reload your page and click the video link. Try to see if there are any errors reported right before being diverted to Youtube.

The console does indeed show an error only when I login to wordpress and then try to view the page:

“TypeError: window.angular is undefined”

Does it say where / which script that error is coming from?

I also noticed in your site source that you are using NextGEN Gallery. Make sure you disable the NextGEN FancyBox script. Under the NextGEN settings go to Other options -> Lightbox effect -> No Lightbox.

Thanks. I have made the alteration to NExtGen as you said (I even disabled the plugin) but the error still remains when I am logged into WordPress. There are now two errors (description and filename below).

Do you know to which plugin that common.js file belongs to? There such a file in wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/static/common.js as part of NextGEN but that does not have any “window.angular” in it…

Ok, it’s the ‘google analyticator’ plugin that it’s conflicting with ?? I can live with it and don’t really want to start debugging it. I really appreciate your time in sorting this though, thanks.

Ah yes, Google Analyticator… I remember that the setting Outbound Click Tracking (or what was it called) causes issues too.

If you’re using that plugin for the awesome dashboard stats, then you could use Google Analytics Dashboard too but you’d need to install another plugin (or modify your themes footer.php) to insert the tracking code itself ??

I have had the same problem but now solved:
WP Slimstat has been the bad guy!
Activated: Youtube video doesn’t start in easy fancy box popup!
Deactivated: Youtube video do start in easy fancy box popup!

Hi,

Slimstat includes an option in the settings to list what links should be treated differently, either by URL or class or rel attribute. Once you set that up, everything will be back to normal ??
