    Good evening,

This probably goes into custom development territory but I know it has to work somehow.

I have a Custom Post Type “Show” that I put all my show episodes into. Here’s the archive page of those: https://churchcommunications.com/show/

You can see the first one has a thumbnail. I would like to pull the Youtube Thumbnail from the Youtube URL that I am already pulling to EMBED the Youtube. I am using a custom field for the embed that uses plain text so I can put it into a DIV so that it is responsive.

I have that much accomplished but this one has left me scratching my head.

I have this tutorial: https://www.isitwp.com/add-youtube-thumbnail-posts-with-custom-metabox/ that I thought was pretty similar and there’s a couple of OLD plugins laying around to do it like this: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/video-thumbnails/ but even that one is manual and has to be done after publishing (blah!).

I want this to be very straight forward for my user. Just input URL and WordPress magically does the rest. Is this possible?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

In short, I’m sure it’s possible, it’s just not a feature of Pods and thus out of scope, sorry.
I’ll probably need to store the video ID only and then create your embed and thumbnail links yourself in your PHP template/function.

    Cheers, Jory
