• Hello!
Recently there was a problem, that I still can’t resolve.
When I try to post a YouTube video link, instead of displaying the actual video, there is only a link.
I tried it with Vimeo and Twitter links, but those work normally.
    Here is the example.

    Thank you.

    Unfortunately, no effect. https://igamers.cz/asda/

Ugh, I’m running out of ideas. ??

And, if you do it exactly the same, but with a Vimeo video URL, it works?

Also, after the page is published, would you please edit it again and check the Text tab, to make sure that any HTML hasn’t made its own way magically around the pasted URL?

Also, can you give us a link to a post or page with a working Vimeo embed?

I found out that in HTML editor there is this

    words above

    [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS-VPyLaJFM[/embed]

    words below

But in Visual Editor, there, instead of video, there is written “Failed to embed”. Example here: https://i.imgur.com/haeAdZl.png

Here is the link to a post with working Vimeo video: https://igamers.cz/test4-vimeo/
It works even without putting [embed] tags.

Ok, and just so we can rule out WordPress’s auto-paragraph-tagging, how about just the video, by itself, nothing else, on line 1, pasted right into the Text editor tab:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS-VPyLaJFM

Curious.. can you try a different browser? I wonder if some setting with the browser is causing the Visual Editor to fail connecting to YouTube causing the embed to fail?

I wonder.. if you just put this into the post using the text editor, does it work:

    <p><iframe width="625" height="352" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LS-VPyLaJFM?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

MarkRH: With that iframe tag, it works, but it doesn’t auto adjusts the video for my site. Also what interests me is, that the normal method, just pasting url, doesn’t work anymore.

Is there any improvement if you update to WordPress 4.4.2?

Also, would you please ask your hosting provider if they’re running mod_security, and if they could disable that for you to test without it?

    (@amic58)

Hello, here is the link to the page after updating to WordPress 4.4.2. It didn’t help.
Is mod_security server-related? I will ask them about turning it off soon.

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

mod_security is on the server-side, yes.

Hello James, sorry for not saying anything for a long time, had lots of work.
So I asked my hosting provider about turning mod_security off, but they said that they don’t use it, only mod_deflate and mod_rewrite.

Unfortunately, I’m out of ideas, I’d recommend sticking with the iframe for now, and hopefully someone else comes along with some thoughts.

I appreciate that you tried to help me. Hope somebody else will know the answer to this. Thanks again!
