    I have disabled the wp youtube plugin but all youtube videos are still locked to auto 480p by default. Why this behavior ?

    if LYTE is disabled (and if you purged any page cache you might have), it cannot “lock” anything anymore anandbb. do you have a URL where I could see this happening so I can check if this still is LYTE or not?

    don’t see any 480px limitations there anandbb ;

    Have you checked the quality in player control? Is it 1080p or 480p

    ah, you weren’t talking about player width but video quality. indeed I get it at 480p as well, but that seems to be the AUTO value (for reasons only YouTube knows ?? )

    Pretty sure LYTE isn’t involved in this at all though ??

    It’s strange but with YouTube videos embedded in my site the quality always locked at 480p but on Youtube site is 1080p ??

    I guess YT’s AUTO quality algorithm is different for embedded video’s vs when on youtube itself?

    Hey can you help me with other issue which is not related to the plugin but with YouTube video.

    I am using a overlay image on top of my youtube embed video. Everything works fine but while playing youtube video whenever I press back button of my chrome browser it doesnt returns to previous page but instead it shows youtube thumbnail. I dont know why this is happening?

    Your can test the same with the link provided above.

    Hah, that’s weird .. looks like youtube adds to the history of the browser when pressing play, in which case you can go back to the non-playing video. I *think* this is YouTube magic and that you cannot change that @anandbb
