    Hello,
I have integrated Youtube videos on the page and would like them to be blocked until consent is given. the element used is the filterable gallery from elementor in which the videos are stored as a link. The aim is to display the banner as with normal Youtube videos if the cokkies have not yet been accepted.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello @bennipg ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The feature you’re looking for can be achieved with Complianz by enabling the YouTube service. You can do this by navigating to Integrations > Services > YouTube. It’s also possible to enable a placeholder for this specific service, but be aware that it might not work due to theme incompatibilities. If you encounter this issue, try enabling the disable placeholder insertion by going to Tools > Placeholders > Disable Placeholder Insertion (here’s a screenshot for reference). This can resolve styling issues with iframes that sometimes conflict with the theme’s styling.

However, simply enabling the YouTube service should work fine for your needs.

    Please keep me updated.

Hello, Thank you for the quick response. I have activated the YouTube integration, but my problem is that the banner still doesn’t appear. It always opens the pop-up directly and you can simply start the video.

I use the filterable gallery from Essential addons for elementor.

    Hello @bennipg ,

In this case, you can try blocking that specific URL since you’re using a plugin that loads a youtube-nocookie.com URL, which is probably why the Youtube service in Complianz isn’t working.

You can do this by using the “Block a script, iframe or plugin” feature by navigating to Integrations > Script Center. Try blocking this URL: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/. You can apply a cookie category to this and also add a placeholder. You can learn more by following this guide at point 3.2: https://complianz.io/integrating-plugins/.
Do not forget to clear the cache once done.

Looking forward to hearing you soon.

Hello, thank you very much for your help. I tried to integrate it like this, i.e. block the link. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to work. There is no overlay to accept cookies. They are loaded as soon as the popup opens, even if the video is not yet running. This means that the overlay would have to be above the thumbnail in the gallery and the cookies would have to be accepted there. Is this somehow possible? Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello @bennipg ,

After further research, the nocookie URL does not place any cookies until the play button is clicked. At that point, cookies are still set without user consent. Google refers to this as the “delayed cookie option” which is why there’s no overlay on the thumbnail initially. I suggest resolving this by switching from the nocookie URL to the standard URL and then enabling the YouTube integration, as I mentioned in my first response.

Let me know how this process goes, looking forward to hearing you.
