Youtube videos stopped displaying

  • I just upgraded to the latest WPTouch (not pro) and Youtube videos no longer appear in single posts. It only shows text that says “Read the full article”. Fyi: I only use the built-in WP youtube function but I did once use Viper’s Video Quicktags and now use his workaround plugin that must be left in-place and activated to handle old posts (Viper’s Video Quicktags Migrator). The videos have been displaying fine until this WPTouch upgrade installed tonight.

    Wow, I just posted several posts with videos and now this is really bad having no videos displaying. Do you have a previous wptouch version I can restore to? I didn’t think of backing up the last version. Dumb on my part. Never dreamed I’d lose all videos.

    Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with the video embeds. Testing locally, we can’t reproduce any issues embedding/displaying Youtube videos.

    Can you let us know exactly how you’re adding the videos? Are you using the video’s URL, embed code, a shortcode, etc.?

    If you can share the URL of the website in question, we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    If you want to try a previous version, you can always download older versions of the plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wptouch/developers/
