@daniele280271 Thanks for your reply. We’ve addressed your questions individually below:

Can I uninstall yoast plug and the re-install it or will I loose all the meta data?

Yes you can uninstall the plugin and then re-install it without loosing any of your data or settings. The data and settings for the plugin are stored separately in your site’s WordPress database and are independent from the plugin’s files in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/

another question, to give you temp access: the only way it’s with the premium support?

Yes that is correct. If your issue requires us to take a look at your site’s setup, we aren’t able to do so here since this is a public forum. To do so it would require purchasing Yoast SEO Premium so that we can investigate this in that fashion.

@daniele280271 If you believe this is due to a bug in the Yoast SEO plugin, we’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new.

You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.

i dnt know if a bug but I believe it happened bcz I create and deleted many times home pages.

@daniele280271 No, submitting a report on GitHub is to report a bug to the plugin developers, so that if it can be replicated it can be fixed in a later release. I f you need for use to check on the issue in your admin area or your site, that would require purchasing Premium support.

    Ok I see.

Wha about this picture when tyiping the url
    https://www.venicediving.com/en/venice-diving

it should be the reason why on the home page I got
    https://www.venicediving.com/en/venice-diving-2

Should I delete the picture and see?

We don’t think the relevant picture is causing the -2 in the URL. WordPress automatically adds the -2 in the URL when there’s another post, page, category, tag, or any other custom post types item exists. So, this is specific to WordPress itself rather than specific to our plugin.

You may want to check your entire website to see where exactly another page venice-diving exists. If you don’t find anything, please submit this topic over at the WordPress general forum as the query is specific to WordPress itself. So, other community members will help you out there.

I deleted, as confirmed by WP forum being the cause:
“An image generates a post of type “attachment” with the image name as the slug. ”

Now I got venice diving for them engl home page.

May this help you to support me about the topic “You’ve used this keyphrase 2 times before.”?

    appreciated, thanks

    FIXED AS WELL ??

THE IMAGE WAS THE REASON OF EVERYTHING

hope this discussion will help other people in future!

Shall I report it as a bug?

    Hi,

There’s no need to report this on GitHub! If you uploaded an image and it created an attachment URL, then that would explain why it created the -2 if it had the same name, so it was WordPress working as expected.

We’re glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue. We wish you all the best in further optimizing your site!

So how come an image created such a thing?
    (I did nothing)

    Hi,

We were assuming that it was the attachment URL of the image (considered as thin content) which had the same focus keyphrase as ‘venice diving’ that caused the issue regarding the warning of ‘you’ve used this keyphrase’ previously. Was this not correct? Is that assessment still showing in the content analysis?

    Thread Starter daniele280271

    (@daniele280271)

WP support wrote me it’s normal.

In the future, remember to either do the post first or upload the image with a name that won’t conflict

    Hi @daniele280271,

Thanks for the update! It looks this issue has been resolved, so we’re closing this topic.

You’re welcome to create a new forum topic if you have any other questions.
