Zerif Lite question

  • I am new to WordPress and trying to use the Zerif Lite theme.
    Once installed it looks nothing like the original demo. I used the Godaddy fast install and am doing all work via a browser.
    Would I have better results if I use FTP? I would like to set up the page similar to the Zerif Lite demo, I have looked at a few YouTube videos which make it look fairly easy. I see WordPress does not support the theme for some reason. A beautiful Theme and I would like to use if possible, I do know some CSS and HTML.
    Slowly becoming familiar with the Dashboard,
