Here is my website in progress: https://hansonfilm.org/may2015wp/

I spent a lot of time a couple weeks ago, setting up the Team Member section on the home page with working links with the great help of www.ads-software.com member Andrew. A javascript solution ended up being the only way. You can read about that here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/our-team-link?replies=43

THere had been no issue with other simple formatting of the Team Member blurb (the Position subsection, specifically, is what I’m using for blurb text). I thought I was on to new tasks, but today I discover that all of my formatting of the Team Member blurbs, including the links that Andrew had helped me to get working a couple weeks ago, has vanished overnight. Team Member blurbs will not recognize ANY formatting and more. Not only the link coding, but simple boldfacing, line breaks and spacing between sentences has been stripped. I am totally mystified.

The only change that has occurred with this theme since yesterday is that I added a new plugin yesterday, TinyMCE Advanced. But after deactivating, the problem persists.

What on earth would cause this?

  • Your parent theme has been updated to new version 1.8.2.2. The new version contains a fix for the escaped broken html which you obviously tried to fix via javascript.

Would try to disable/remove that javascript fix and then re-save the team member content as correct html in backend.

    Dear Ov3rfly,

Thank you so much for this info, that the theme has been updated! Per your instruction, I disabled the JavaScript and my formatting has returned! You have made my day!!

Please tell me, how do I know if zerif-lite has been updated, and how can a theme update on my site without my opting to do the update myself in the Dashboard?

Probably your WordPress is configured to update automatically.

You can see the version of the theme in WordPress backend at Design -> Themes or by looking at your parent style.css file.

    Ah, I see.

Would be nice if the Dashboard would report which automatic updates have been made at any given time.

Anyway, thanks so very much again!!
