• Hi!

I recently had some help updating my website and am now using Zerif Pro. The guy that developed my site was kind of learning as he was going and at the time, set me up with the SEO all in one pack. After I did some research and I found a reputable article reg why Yoast is better, I asked him if we could move to Yoast, to which he responded that both plugins are exactly the same and that SEO AIN was better. I also told him that there was an attached link with advice on how to do the change, using another plugin. The developer then got pissy with me and deactivated SEO AIO and added Yoast, without transferring any data. (I hope this is all making sense) He then said.. It’s all yours, good luck with Yoast. He did tell me to not touch the setting within ‘Common Settings’ – He told me not to change from ‘Default’ to ‘Post Name’ as this would kill my site.

Aside from that and I’m not sure if this is related but I think this is. I now keep on getting this message in my SEO on my site.

You do not have your postname in the URL of your posts and pages, it is highly recommended that you do. Consider setting your permalink structure to /%postname%/. Fix it.Ignore. – He told me to ignore it.

Bottom line, he switched to yoast without transferring data.. I would like to fix this issue but he is not willing to help me further. Before I let him go, I asked him why changing that setting would kill my site, This was his response.

what I explained to you at our last meeting was that the Zerif Theme menu did not ‘pick up’ the settings change when you amended the WP settings/ permalinks from ‘default’ to ‘post name’ which disabled all your navigation links and the posts.

Can someone please help me with this. Thanks so much! Be easy on me.. I don’t know all the lingo yet on WordPress.

    Thank you!!!! ??
