    G’Day

This has the potential to be an awesome plugin for a project Im working on… If I can get it working.

I have downloaded the free Zoomify plugin however when inserting an image, the output is simply a folder containing a great deal of jpg files/tiles for the image. I get this is how its supposed to work for the program itself but your plugin suggests that the free converter will create a .zif file?

Without downloading the premium version which still doesnt guarantee that a .zif file will be created, can you shed some light as to whether there will be an actual .zif file needed for your plugin or are you simply referring the the standard folder containing the many .jpgs

This plugin only works with .zif files. This is because you only need to upload one .zif file and you can do this via the WP Media uploader. There is a free .zif converter available https://www.zoomify.com/free.htm

Have you checked the converter recently? I did download that same converter and the only option available in the converter is to specify the output folder. Once an image is dragged in, a new folder is created with multiple subfolders containing tiles of .jpg images. In that main folder an xml file is also created detailing the number of tiles created. Thats it, no .zif file.

The blurb from the link for the converter page does not mention anything about a .zif file, only a zoomable image folder.

    Just 3 steps to zoom!

    1.
Run the Zoomify Free Converter and select your image file to create a Zoomify Image folder.
    2.
Edit TemplateWebPage.htm and change the value ‘ZoomifyImageExample’ to your image folder’s name.
    3.
Copy your image folder and the files TemplateWebPage.htm and ZoomifyImageViewerFree-min.js to your webserver.

    Hi there,

I’ m sorry to hear that het free version does not allow for .zif file conversion (anymore). You will need to contact Zoomify for assistance on that subject. I am not connected to Zoomify in any way so I cannot help you with issues or questions related to the converter.

Thank you for pointing out the issue with the free Zoomify converter. I will remove the reference to that from the plugin description.

    Regards,
    Sander
