zip compression

gzip and ZipArchive are different tools.

Sorry, I don’t really get this. (not an expert)

On your website (https://support.lifeinthegrid.com/knowledgebase.php?article=12)in the FAQ ist says:
Check your php.ini file for the following:
…
On MAC and Linux: extension=zip.so

As I wrote above the php.ini includes this line “extension=zip.so”
Is something else needed?
p.s. the Server runs php 5

My host found a mistake in the php.ini

Just a dot “.” can make the difference ??
