I’m trying this plugin out before deciding whether or not to use it. The site uses StoreFront and I was unhappy to find that the zoom function has disappeared. I think you should mention this in the plugin description. Apart from that it seems to fit what we want. We are a small charity and cannot justify $49 every year for the pro version just to get zoom back as we wouldn’t need anything else.

I was also surprised to receive an email asking me to confirm my email address. I suspect this is in contravention of GDPR as the email has no GDPR compliant text saying what will happen if I confirm my address.

    Hi,

I will reply in order to your observations.

    1. You may read the FAQ in this product page description “What happens to my theme default gallery display”.
The free version has the zoom function called “Lens” and the Ligthbox. Both can be activated under WooCommerce > SVI.
PS: You may cancel the subscription/auto-renewal at any time. You will still have access to updates & support for that year. Afterwards you will also be able to continue using the plugin, only no updates or support.

    2. The plugin is in compliance with GDPR, and if you received a email for confirmation email is because you clicked to Allow & continue instead of skiping.
You may see this here: https://ibb.co/jD1m34m
You may opt-out at any time, On the Plugins section, unde the plugin name, “opt-out”.

Hope I have clarified your concerns, happy to further clarify about it if needed.

    Cheers,
    David

    Hi David,

    1. Okay, I think I didn’t realise what was meant by “theme default gallery display”. The lightbox may be okay, it’s similar to the StoreFront zoom apart from the appearance of the icon.

As we don’t need any of the Pro features I think we’ll stick with the free version, presumably if an update is released it will be notified on the site’s dashboard. I’m only bothered if a WooCommerce update makes the plugin stop working.

    2. I still don’t think the email is clear – even that dialog you gave a link to isn’t clear. Surely updates should be notified in the same way that updates to all other plugins are – on the site dashboard, I don’t understand what the relevance of freemius.com to a free version of the plugin is, I’ve not come across freemius before – it seems an unnecessary complication. Anyway, that’s your business, not mine, I don’t write plugins, I’m glad I can ignore it without affecting whether the plugin works.

    Cheers,
    Dave
