Zoom Link Asking for Password

    Suddenly, Zoom links with the password encrypted in the URL are no longer working as intended. This behavior is on Chrome, as well as iOS devices. It keeps asking for a password.

    If I use the link without going through the website (just type in the URL in another browser window, it is fine.

    Sometimes, I find if I enter the URL it works again and update the meeting, even though the password was same as before.

    Additionally, would be possible to make target= blank for these Zoom links so it could open in a different tab or window?

  • Have you checked the URL linked to the button?
    Zoom has changed their policy awhile ago and do no longer show the password in the URL link. It now shows up as a random set of characters. So if you had the combination of meeting ID and password in the link it no longer works?
    I am just guessing, but that is where I would look first…

    I just tested this:
    Have a zoomlink in the classic way, showing the password. It prompts for the password and will not continue.
    Then tried using the new zoomlink and the meetings opens up without the prompt.

    I am using the embedded password in URL through Zoom. This way the meeting password is encrypted and included in the join meeting link to allow participants to join with just one click without having to enter the password.

    The one-tap mobile links are fine.

    Is anyone else having this problem? The meetings that sync with the Meeting Guide app no longer work either.

    Hi @octotoot,

    I’ve not heard of anyone else having this problem. I’ll have to check some things out.

    Can you please remind me of your website and an example meeting where you’re having a problem?
