Zoom Post Feature Image, How to

Hi all, any suggestions on how to zoom and or create a lightbox for the featured image in a post. By ‘featured image’ I’m referring to the default featured image that can be added to a post by ‘setting’ featured image from the post screen?

I’m using WP Lightbox 2 and it works fine on any other image that has been inserted in a page or post, but doesn’t on the default featured image. Perhaps there’s a global setting or something which allows the default featured image to be manipulated and respond like other images? If so, I have found it.
