Zoom Post Featured Image

Hi there, and sorry in advance if this question has been asked in another forum, or perhaps it’s an easy fix.

I’m trying to create a lightbox/zoom of the featured image in a post but can’t find a plugin that will work. By ‘featured image’ I mean the ‘Featured Image’ that you set on the right hand column when you create a post.

I can get various plugins to work on images that are ‘placed’ in the body of the Post (or page), but can’t figure out how to create light box or zoom of the featured image inserted using the above method.

Perhaps this is not possible?
