I too have sent an email. Not sure if you were asking me or kirrink or both of us.
It does seem odd. Our hosting provider is restoring the site to a known, working state. I did try the plugin with all other plugins deactivated – no change in behaviour. I think my ‘rollback’ caused the image upload issues.
Not sure why, when all plugins disabled, Metaslider won’t allow me to access the Metaslider > Home, simply spitting out a blank page.PHP 7.4.33
WordPress 6.6.2Just been emailed an error, probably when I rolled back:

?thrownI have gone back to the latest version of MetaSlider but still can’t upload images to the Media Library. Each upload just results in a ‘?’.?When I look in the uploads folder (2024/10) via ftp, no files are uploaded.

Having rolled back, I can no longer upload images to the Media Library. Each upload results in a ‘?’. I can access the MetaSlider ‘Home’ page.
Rolling back seems to have cured the issue. It would suggest there is an issue with the plugin. Happy to help identify the problem if it helps you guys. Let me know what you need.

Thanks. That’s sorted it.
Well it’s been a week or so since Namesco support took a deep dive on the DB and everything seems to be working. I’ve added a couple of dozen new slideshows and no issues.
Namesco have not said what they found, nor what they did but everything is working again. They clearly found an issue and fixed it but they’re not admitting to it, so I can’t really give you any further information.
I did the WordPress (5.5) and plugin updates a day or two ago and so far, there aren’t any issues to report.
I think it’s safe to close this thread. Thanks for all your assistance debugging the problem. Sorry that we don’t know what the exact nature of the problem was ??
I think it’s safe to say that the problem was caused by the DB at a very deep level.
Spoke with the helpful tech at Namesco again today. Whilst talking through the comments that you’d made about DB size he started looking at the DB and spotted something but didn’t say what he’d found – just that something didn’t look quite right. Just said he’d have to consult with a colleague and would call back. Still waiting for that call.
Will keep you posted.
I’ve just updated PHP to 7.4.2 and it’s made no difference ??
Before doing the PHP update, I took a copy of the site and updated my old local version (MAMP) and everything works as it should. No errors whatsoever.
The tech I spoke with reckons as their hosting is an Apache system, it’s difficult to trip up their server resource limits.
When he moved the site to the professional hosting package and we tried to replicate the error, we couldn’t get the server 500 error. Clicked on ‘New Slideshow’ and the page reloads to the previous/most recent gallery and that was all that happened.
Will do some more troubleshooting this afternoon.
