Have you had any luck with tracking down the problem? I also have the same issue with some of my sites hosted on SiteGround that use the free version, however, the reports continue to arrive as expected on the sites with the premium version of the plugin.

This error disappeared when I dropped down to PHP 7.4 then came back on PHP 8 and 8.1

Problem solved, the client supplied me with a 365 login that did not have mail send and receive rights

Thanks Eli for prompt reply, no infection, just problems getting ithemes Sync plugin to work on the dreaded TSO Host. Have to prove to them its to do with their Cloud servers rather than blaming the wonderful plugin makers and the easy excuse that its a plugin conflict!

Thanks have added the JS exclusion and that seems to work. Have left off the plugins/gravityforms/ as forms were going through fine before activating the Stripe addon. Good point regarding WPFC – was throwing everything at the site – less is more!

Thanks Brian for your suggestion. I deactivated the plugins which were causing it to hang, ran a scan, reactivated them and all seems to be working again now but I will have that up my sleeve just in case!
