Doesn’t seem to be the problem as I cleared the cache on the browser still the same.
Found a way around the problem though used the Advanced Access Manager plugin thanks for your reply though.

As you can see the fish on the right hand side of the page slides under the page as the browser is made smaller I want the fish to stay in position and not collapse.

I am thinking that I need to add a div around the page and position the fish absolutely but I am not sure where to put the div to achieve this

Thanks for your help on this Snat much appreciated, I now have the problem sorted.
On my router there is a virtual server tab which allows me to set up Static DNS mapping so all I needed to do was

add the local address 192.168.1.7 and the arrow.dyn etc and after a router reboot it works fine.

Thanks for that vtxyzzy it appears the problem was caused by having the word Home in the ‘Home link in Page Menu Bar’ just as you said. The default is home when it is blank but if you put the word home in this area you get 2 homes in the menu bar.

I’ve worked out how to fix this problem, as Home is one of the first id’s created just try excluding low id numbers and check if home still appears in the menu. In my case it was id 2 and that got rid of the original home page I could then make a static home page which the site shows.

Yes I am having the same problem with the Home page, I am using the Atahualpa theme. If I create a static page called Home I get the original Home page and the new Home page the first Home page does not appear in the pages list when its set to normal or to a static page and therefore I can’t get the id for it to exclude it.

Thanks for your help songdogtech I installed PHPMyAdmin as you suggested and eventually after much stuffing around I created a new database using the PHPMyAdmin and it connected. It really amazes me that there isn’t a more friendly explanation of the install process. The 5 minute installer is fine if you don’t have any problems. Anyway thanks again

Thanks for all your suggestions. First of all I don’t have a web host provider, I have set the ubuntu server up myself everything seems to be working well. I replaced the config file with one that had no changes to it to see if I would be prompted for the database info but I’m still getting the same error message.
