In reply to: Dashboard display all wrongThanks @bcworkz, the problem seems to have been a slightly corrupted theme, perhaps in part caused by a plugin. Having reinstalled the theme everything seems to be working again. For now, anyway. i appreciate your response – nice that someone took the time to try and help.

In reply to: Dashboard display all wrongUPDATE: i was still logged in in another browser (Edge), so the bar appears at the top of the screen on my site. But selecting anything from New, brings up a Page not found screen. Selecting the Dashboard from the bar brings up the same redirect error. Please can anyone help, i have no idea how to fix this…

In reply to: Dashboard display all wrongBut NOW it’s gone completely. i was reactivating the plugins, and reinstalled one i’d deleted (Interactive Geo Maps), and it seemed to work, but now i can’t access the dashboard at ALL. After a login attempt i’m getting this:
This page isn’t working
5against4.com redirected you too many times.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
Please help, i’ve no idea what to do! Clearing the cookies doesn’t help. And i’ve deleted the plugin from the FTP server, so it’s gone.

In reply to: Dashboard display all wrongUpdate: i was able to get the correct appearance by disconnecting from my wifi, clearing cookies, and connecting via my iphone hotspot (4G). What does this suggest?
Thanks, that’s exactly what i thought. All resolved!
Can anyone confirm this is the likely answer? If so, presumably there are many people who will see the number of subscribers go down due to the removal of Twitter from WordPress.
i just had a thought: could this number reduction be because of the removal of the Twitter API when sharing new posts? My Twitter has around 2,000 followers, roughly the number that this has reduced by! Surely this is the answer?

In reply to: Strange database errors in error_log?Thanks again, i appreciate your comments. i thought it was search related, i guess that in itself isn’t a problem. But having just checked the error_log, i’m seeing quite a few other things, mainly “PHP notice” errors, and i’ve just noticed my website is going REALLY slowly right now. So maybe there is something messed up under the hood?
That link you sent, the jobs.wordpress link, what is that? People who are willing to help with WP problems?

In reply to: Strange database errors in error_log?Hi, thanks for this. Before i say something about your 2 possible solutions, is it relevant that these errors always seem to have some kind of spam reference in them? i.e. in this case it’s “online Pharma”? These errors always have something of that kind in them.
Your solutions: both of them are kind of outside my ability / comfort zone, so i’m wondering: is this something i shouldn’t ignore? i am actually getting other errors in my error_log (quite a few actually, often PHP notices), so i’m wondering whether somehow my database has got a bit screwy. This site is 10 years old now, but i don’t have much know-how to go deep in terms of trying to sort things out. Without wanting to sound simplistic, i just want to write on WordPress, i didn’t realise things could get so convoluted under the hood. So if these are “trivial errors” it would be good to know.

In reply to: Title and all header sizes look the same in block editorTurns out this problem was down to my theme developer. But thanks SO much to everyone who offered suggestions.

In reply to: Title and all header sizes look the same in block editorHmm. So basically people can just freely spam on this forum?

In reply to: HELP!!! PHP Warning: Constant WP_POST_REVISIONS already definedIt looks like – strangely – the problem with my site going down stems back to Wordfence, in conjunction with some GoDaddy server issues. i’ve deactivated WordFence and the site hasn’t gone down since. Weird. Marking as resolved though.
