In reply to: Twenty Ten image header problemsThanks, Governor. That fixed my alignment problem.
Now does anyone know why WP is messing up my color?

In reply to: Twenty Ten image header problemsSite is blog.613photo.com, by the way.
And here is the image the way it’s supposed to look.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowThanks to everyone who helped and tried to help. I’ve had a long day…didn’t want to sound ungrateful.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowOkay I’m done with it. I’m not really sure what I did but it works.
Except I am kind of wondering what size to make my header image. I created it at the size it said it would accept, but in Firefox it still has a black border around some of it.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowOkay well I have found some code in several places throughout the forum, but none of them tell an apparent idiot like me where to put it. I tried putting it in what I thought was a logical location but it changed nothing.
Neither of the learning sites posted above are for beginners. Well if the second one is who would know because that’s the worst looking website I’ve ever seen.
I don’t want to learn how to code a website. I just want the title text off of there and I will be done with it.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowwell, you’re right. It is a lot faster when I’m not logged in. I never would have thought that would make a difference, or at least a difference that big.
I will look for how to deal with the title. I’m sure I’ll be able to figure that one out with the help of the forum. I just had this speed issue, too.
Thanks to all who replied. I guess things are okay.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowPlease be more specific regarding CSS. I know what CSS stands for but have no idea how to edit it. It all looks crazy to me when I look at it.
There are a few images. But I have pages on the same domain with more and much, much larger photos that load in literally 1/10 the time that it takes the wordpress page to load. I don’t think it’s the images. I’ve had photo galleries for a long time and haven’t seen anything this slow in years.
I do not know what “filter front end content” means.
I appreciate you guys trying to help, but I don’t think wordpress is for me. It’s apparently for people who know about websites and have some kind of training, because I’m a pretty smart guy but find myself completely lost.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowOkay. I still have two problems. I really don’t want the text “sixthirteen photo blog” at the top of the page. I like the header image I made and think that it should stand alone. Even blogger will let you do this, so I’m sure there’s a way to make wordpress do it.
Secondly, I have followed Christine’s suggestions the best I can, but there has been no speed improvement. A website speed test site just told me it took 1 minute and 50 seconds for my page to load, which is beyond ridiculous since there’s barely anything on it. Again, the main site is fast. It’s the blog in the subdomain running wordpress that’s an issue. The sites giving tips on speeding things up sound like greek to me. I installed the W3 caching plug-in and things slowed down even more.
Frustrated and am ready to wipe the installation completely.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowYeah I found it and did that.
Is there any way to keep it from printing the words? I have the words in the image header where they ought to be, and having the print up at the top is redundant.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowOh…Okay. I found the settings. I swear they weren’t there while ago. Maybe the page hadn’t loaded completely yet.

In reply to: My blog doesn't seem to have a title. It is also quite slowThanks. I will try the Google search. My images aren’t very big, though, and have few plugins and no scripts that I installed.
I don’t even know how to get to the admin panel. I can get to the dashboard easily enough but it doesn’t have a “settings” option.

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress Blog in SubfolderHi.
I was on the horn with godaddy again and he was explaining that right when I got your email. He wasn’t sure why the wordpress install didn’t go through the first time. Said he couldn’t see where I clicked “finish”, but I know I did because when he and I went through it again I remember seeing that next page after you click “finish”.
Anyway, blog.613photo.com is fine with me. I don’t really have a preference.
Once again I really appreciate the help.

In reply to: WordPress Blog in SubfolderThanks. Still waiting. I went back to the GoDaddy site and it said it could take up to 24 hours. Wow. That’s pretty slow. I hope it doesn’t actually take that long.
I’d like to get started. Since I’ve never used WordPress I’d like to see how it all works.
Interestingly, when I type in “www.blog.613photo.com “, I get a search engine from my cable company. Not getting the 403 “Forbidden” error anymore. Don’t know if that means anything or not.
