Actually, it should still work for all WordPress blogs, self-hosted or otherwise. Did you log in at the admin panel? It should redirect to the quickpost form.

If not, let me know the version you’re running–and the URL of the page you tried to share. I double-checked with my own 3.0.3 installation and it worked like a champ.

The template tag supports custom URLs and titles:
<?php do_action( ‘addthis_widget’, $url, $title); ?>

Yeah — we think we have a fix in the development version, but various blogs work differently. It’d be great to confirm in your case that replacing the plugin with the dev version resolves the issue!

Button preview is a great idea, which we’ll add in the next version.

The default behavior is to add the button at the end of a post. Template tags are just for advanced users. What led you to believe that was your only option?

Ah. I think for now you’d have to edit the plugin manually, to change line 319 (the only place “get_permalink()” is referenced) to use “permalink_to_twitter_link(get_permalink())” instead.

Both issues are resolved in our development branch:
