We always try to attain our customer’s need and the letters on the phone number field is actually some of our user’s requirement. The reason for allowing letter on the phone number fields:

1. We are using the standard HTML element for telephone numbers ‘type=“tel”’. We used to have the number field which allowed users to only add numbers but owing to our customer’s demand, we had to use the standard HTML element.
2. Some countries require adding a country/area code before the number and for that reason, one might need to use a special character “+”. To be able to use special characters i.e “+” or “-”, the standard HTML element should be used.

You can uninstall the Directorist without loosing any data. To do that please set Remove Data on Uninstall to no from Directory Settings >> Uninstall

Hi,
Thank you for explaining us in detail. We’ve got your point. As in the upcoming updates, users will able to add new location on listing submission form, you can use the both location field and address field for listing’s location to achieve your goal. So, users will choose their city from the location field and address from the address field.

You can set the location field as required so that users can’t skip it any how.
