In reply to: Forgotten user name and PW@brianarnopp , if you had given the working email id while creating the initial user on wordpress install , you can simply use the forget password option on login screen otherwise you need to go to database and can change the details in user table in database

In reply to: My Blog's Description Doesn't Show In Google Due To Robot.txt. Help!the first 2 lines that you have there
# https://www.robotstxt.org/
# https://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=156449they are just the reference to a site using which your robots file might have been created and second line ( the google one ) is the reference to good doc showing what a robot file is.
so i doubt someone at your end or from your hosting provider created the robots file and forgot to remove
Disallow: /
this file does not impact any of your site working , just used for search engines indexing
For example suppose you do not want one of your site page to not indexed on google , you can simply write in this file
Disallow: /aboutus
or any other page name etc
so this won’t effect any of the working. Up to you if you want to try ??
Also you need to wait a couple of days to allow search engines to reindex your site after you modify this file, this is not some instant thing to get result.
you can search more about robots.txt file on google, you will see what i am talking about .

In reply to: My Blog's Description Doesn't Show In Google Due To Robot.txt. Help!Okay , then it might be something from some SEO settings or may be you or your host created a manual robot file , you can simply login to your hosting file manager and in root folder you can see a file called robots.txt
You can edit it and simply remove all these line from it , just keep it empty for now.

In reply to: My Blog's Description Doesn't Show In Google Due To Robot.txt. Help!Hello,
Disallow: / , means your root folder ( that is whole site is being blocked to be indexed by search engines)
This can be due to many reasons.
First you need to check the follow settings
Please go to Settings > Reading section in wordpress dashboard and make sure the check box for disallow search engines is not selected.

In reply to: Permalink doesn't work on loop paginationHello,
My permalink setting on wp dashboard is /blog/%postname%/
I am sorry if i am missing something but why do you have these settings, these should be just postname , right ? because /blog part will automatically come being it a sub directory
Please try changing it to post name and check once ,

In reply to: Timed out error in new blog.Okay , please try accessing your error logs like @jackie McBride suggested. Also try deactivating jetpack as well ( even though it is the only plugin on your site buy may be it is conflicting for some reasons )

In reply to: Timed out error in new blog. You can access public_html folder on your hosting file manager.
but this looks like some ISP issue to me instead of server issue ? did you cross check with your ISP that there are no network issues and speed is decent enough ?
