For anyone still puzzled over a solution to this (that doesn’t have it working already I mean), give the Different Posts Per Page plugin a look. It allows you to set the sort order for any post/page listing on your blog as well as the amount to be listed per page.

Same problem here, running WordPress 2.5.1. I’m glad to know I’m not alone.

Oh nice! I learned something new today. It’s great that you can do that without needing to use a plugin. Could this same technique be used to reverse the order of displayed posts as well?

I was receiving this error too before. I just disabled all my plugins and started to enable them one by one. I haven’t been able to reproduce the error yet but I just assumed maybe I had too many plugins enabled (if that’s even possible).

Intriguing idea. I also would be interested in learning how to accomplish this.

Log in to your WP admin page. Go to Settings > Discussion.

Make sure that the following options are unchecked:

Before a comment appears
– An administrator must always approve the comment
– Comment author must have a previously approved comment

You might also consider disabling (to avoid being spammed):

E-mail me whenever
– Anyone posts a comment
