In reply to: [Quick Adsense] Latest Update and new errorsThe plugin now resets all of your settings after this update. You need to go in and set the settings all over again. This is the second time this has happened in just over 1 month after updates.
You are not alone! And it is nothing to do with txt files – simply that the settings you had are now automatically changed without your knowledge. I don’t believe it is malicious in any way – just stupid and very careless.

In reply to: [Quick Adsense] broken… againThe problem is simply creating an update which does not keep the settings and not making us aware that this will happen. I run dozens of wordpress websites and like most users go in and update plugins routinely. If I am not aware that major changes will occur to my settings this causes major issues.
If I update a social sharing plugin I do not expect to have to go in and change all my settings again.
Your plugin involves making money – the results of changes are huge to the website owner. If you are making changes that effect the main settings you need to notify the user – even as a common courtesy. Surely you can see this!
This latest update set my websites to show ad block 1 “before content” (without my knowledge) and changed the settings to “only show on pages” Not including “posts”. No other adblocks were set to show. For me this would have lead to getting my adsense account banned under current Google guidelines.
The previous main update set my ads to Not show at all. I did not notice it at the time and only discovered it when I checked my adsense earnings – I lost around $300 revenue in a 10 day period. All because you change the original settings and do not warn us before updating.
I hope this is clear to you now. For these reasons your plugin is not worth the risk involved for me and I have removed it from all websites. Plugin owners must think beyond just the technical aspects of their plugins. They need to understand how people use them and maintain their websites – and understand the repurcussions when things go wrong.
Thanks for a plugin that worked well for me for several years … until recently. And good luck for the future.
Same issue here – after upgrade, affiliate links not working properly for newly created links – not passing identification of the affiliate.
Kinda important to check this for a redirection plugin with such a high profile.
