Hi, the error may be temporary, or that you have not entered all the necessary info. Can you please try again?

    Hi,

If you click on the “Advanced” button next to the message box, it will open up a additional text field that shows you the exact HTML and CSS that is used by the messaging box. You can tweak the style in there to alter the way it looks. If you click on the “See other examples” link, it’ll show you some pre-configured styles and you can just copy and paste those code to use.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Majority of the bots and crawlers will not load all the resources and execute Javascript on the page. We rely on that to filter out a lot of hits from automated scripts. Of course, there are ways to run automated bots or crawler that act like a real browser and run Javascript on page, but we’re not sure those are widespread. If we implemented a check via user agent, they could easily get around it by faking their user agent. We feel that as it is right now, hits from robots that run Javascript should be negligible. Please let us know if you think differently and why, we may be able to devote some resources to look into this.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Thank you for pointing out this problem. I researched this and found that it was because one of the WP function we relied on did not take SSL into account. I have made a patch to fix this in our own code since the bug ticket in WP is still not resolved. You should see a minor version update in our plugin soon, please update immediately to get the fix.

    Hi,

Since you already have AdBlockX installed, you will only need to load and activate the AdBlockX javacript file on your regular pages. The javascript file name is different for each installs, so if you email us at [email protected], give us your URL, then I will be able to give you instructions on how to activate AdBlockX on your regular pages.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

When you construct the message to users, we allow you to put in any HTML and CSS code so it can be responsive according to your site design. I think the best way to evaluate different WP plugins is to just setup a staging site or a local site and try them. Since most plugins are free, there’s no cost to trying them out to get a real sense of which plugins will fit your needs.

Thanks for your interest in AdBlockX!

    Hi,

We have now updated the code to not flag network-blocking as true ad blocking. This is a temporary solution to avoid false-positive detection until we can implement a bullet-proof solution.

Thank you for using our plugin! If you find it useful, would you mind leaving a us a review?

    Hi,

I was able to scan through our logs and find the user, luckily Ubuntu isn’t a popular OS. I do see that we detected network-level ad blocking from him and not any other type of ad blocking. There could be several reason for network blocking: country-level (think China), ISP-level, user modified hosts file, etc. I’ve tried installing all the plugins you listed on my Firefox browser and was able properly whitelist and not get detected. I also verified that there are other Ubuntu Firefox users that was able to access your site without problems.

Since network blocking might not be something the user can control, we will be adding more configuration options in our portal shortly so you can check a box to allow network-blocked users. I will let you know when that option is available for use. However, we want the publishers to know that if you enable that option, you are essentially allowing ads to be blocked on your site.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi there,

In order to test this fully, can you tell me your website URL? You email us at [email protected] if you want to send that in private.

The plugin actually tests for 3 types of ad blocking: intrusive ad, non-intrusive ad, and network related ad blocking. I’m guessing that one of the plugin is perhaps active and detected, with network blocking the likely suspect. Some ad blockers look for patterns on the page and blocks certain ad code from executing or displaying, but some could block any network calls to any known ad servers.

We will reply back once we can investigate this further.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

When constructing rules and pairing with a message reaction, we recommend you using the preview button so make sure you like how it shows up on your site. Once the new rules are created, it can take up to an hour to show due to caching. However, you can manually force the refresh by going to the AdBlockX setting page in your WP admin, and click on the “Manual Update” button.

    Hope this helps. Thanks.

Hi, thank you for reporting the error. We have found the problem was due to a domain/hostname change in the registration URL. It is now fixed in the latest version 2.0.1. Please update the plugin and try again. We apologize for the inconvenience.
