In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] facebook counter stop workingHi there,
Facebook counter values are stored on Facebook’s end and retrieved by our plugin to show on the page. They could be reset if the permalinks for your posts changed, or if your Open Graph or canonical meta tags have different URLs than before. Do you know if this is the case?

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Great… if you don't use shortcodesHi there,
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with shortcodes. I just did a test post using the built-in caption shortcode and can’t reproduce the problem. (Here’s a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/DbjVO4z.png ) I
‘m not able to find a case from you in our support system, so if you could email the details to [email protected] including the plugin you’re using and the shortcode that makes the tools disappear I’ll dig into it further.
Hi there,
If you go to the Advanced Options on the AddThis plugin and uncheck both Clickbacks and Address Bar Shares under the “Tracking” section the suffix won’t be added to the URL and you should get things working. Here’s a screenshot for reference: https://i.imgur.com/FH970ec.png

Hi there,
Do you know if your custom post types use a different theme than other posts? What’s the URL of a page where the tools aren’t showing up?
Hi there,
I’m afraid we’ll need some more information to determine what’s going on. Can you send an email with the following information to [email protected]:
– The domain name of your site, e.g. https://www.example.com/
– A URL on that domain where you’re seeing the problem, e.g. https://www.example.com/2015/02/17/blog_post.html
– The AddThis profile ID you’re using. Use the instructions on this page to find your profile ID: https://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/articles/1430185-how-to-make-sure-sure-your-site-is-ready-for-addthis-pro
– The version of WordPress and the plugin you’re using.
– The browsers you’ve seen the problem in (with version and operating system) e.g. Firefox version 43 on Windows 8.1
– Do you have any ad blockers or antivirus software installed such as Adblock Plus or McAfee.
– Do the AddThis tools show up on other sites, such as https://www.addthis.com/blog/
– The ISP you’re using and your general geographic location.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] No imagen…Hi there,
Facebook doesn’t work like the other AddThis buttons. Instead of accepting parameters that we pass it, Facebook requests the URL you’re sharing and gets the data it displays from the meta and link tags in the header. To control how your page is shared on Facebook you should use OpenGraph tags which are described in Facebook’s documentation here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/
You can debug what Facebook sees when it scrapes your page using their URL debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
For adding Open Graph tags to your WordPress blog we recommend the Facebook Revised Open Graph Meta Tag plugin, which is available here: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/facebook-revised-open-graph-meta-tag/
Let me know if you need any more help.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. Can you tell me how the plugin broke your site?
Hi there,
It looks like your PHP settings are set to report notices. This Stack Overflow link explains them well and how to disable them: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4261133/php-notice-undefined-variable-and-notice-undefined-index
Our next update will resolve this, but if you email [email protected] we can send you the beta version.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Client lost their profile infoHi Barbara,
Because the counter values are keyed to the URL and not a specific account you can delete the plugin and reinstall it and the likes and shares will still be there. The only way those will be reset is if the URL for the page is changed.
