In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] How do I disable AddThis on AMP?Hi @csaldanha,
We just released an update about 30 mins ago. Our AMP buttons should no longer be activated unless you’re using the official AMP plugin.
Can you update our plugin and give that a test?
Thanks,
LelandAlso one thing to note, with our new release, you’ll need to make sure that your AMP plugin is up to date since the AddThis plugin can now work in conjunction with the official AMP plugin to render share buttons on AMP pages without any additional code added.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Share counts dissappearedNo update yet, however, this is a top priority for our team right now and we want to make sure that we have a long term fix strategized before implementing.
Hi @ericka90 ,
AMP pages are heavily cached for performance reasons. Since you’ve disabled the plugin, it’s most likely that the cached version of AMP is being reported in your Google’s search console.
Here is documentation from Google on how to update your AMP cache:

In reply to: Catchable Fatal Error: Cannot Log into site after updating plug-insHi Kevin,
We just released the patch so it should be all good to go now. You’ll just have to uninstall to access the WP admin.
Let me know if you have any troubles deleting our plugin files!
Thanks,

In reply to: Catchable Fatal Error: Cannot Log into site after updating plug-insHi there!
AddThis Support here, we are now aware of this issue and it appears our new update is using a function call that apparently isn’t compatible with any PHP version less than 5.4. With that said, we’re going to try to issue a patch to remedy this as soon as possible.
Do you have access to your WordPress backend files through FTP or Hosting Dashboard? If so, what you can do in the meantime is to manually delete the AddThis plugin files which is located at this file path: /wp-content/plugins/addthis/
Once we’ve released the patch update, I can then let you know to reinstall.
Thanks,

Thanks for contacting AddThis Support ??
Our engineering team is aware of the share count issue and is currently looking into it. It appears that Facebook recently deprecated one of their APIs that we were using to retrieve these counts. We don’t believe this a full-on deprecation like Twitter & LinkedIn so we’re working on seeing other viable options at the moment. We expect to have a resolution by the end of today.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Cookies CreatedThe ‘loc’ is a geolocation cookie and the ‘uvc’ is a cookie that tracks the user’s view count.
Both cookies are still coming from the parent domain addthis.com.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Cookies CreatedHi there,
The AddThis cookie is “dropped” upon an end user visiting a publisher site. Certain consent tools allow for cookies to be suspended (or “not dropped”) if the user has not consented to cookies on the site. Publishers are encouraged to seek consent tools that are appropriate given their particular business needs.
In terms of blocking external domains, we recommend that you consult your webmaster/developer in performing this task.
Thanks,
LelandHi Vu,
The path is:
/wp-content/plugins/addthis/frontend/build/l10n/addthis-frontend-en_US.jsonI would also check your network tab in your browser’s console to see if there are any JSON files from us that are being blocked.
Thanks,
LelandHi Vu!
Thanks for contacting AddThis Support ??
This normally happens when a particular translation file is missing during the plugin installation process.
Can you try to delete the plugin and reinstall it?

If you wish to set the shared image on social networks, such as Facebook, we suggest that you set the Open Graph Image meta tag (og:image).
This is now the standard protocol from which social services pull in the image for sharing. Here is Facebook’s documentation on Open Graph tags which we think is pretty good at explaining how they work:
– https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/To make this easier, there are also many Open Graph plugins you can use as well.
Let me know if you have any further questions!

If you connect your AddThis account to your WordPress plugin, it is possible to specify the pages you wish the share button to show through our dashboard.
There is a ‘Show on these pages’ & ‘Hide on these pages’ feature (https://www.screencast.com/t/PoM7C2D6) where you can specify a list of URLs you wish to have the buttons show or hide on. It also supports wildcards which is convenient if you have a group of URLs you wish to show/hide the buttons.
Let me know if you need any further clarifications!
Thanks,
Leland
