In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] 502 Bad GatewayHi @karimaz21,
I’m not exactly sure what those errors are but it appears to be unrelated to AddThis. I suggest that you contact your hosting provider as it appears to be an SSL related issue.
Thanks,
Leland

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] DONT ADD THIS PLUGINHi @leonardofuchs @rachaelargaham02,
Oh no! There shouldn’t be any spam on your site with our tools, we do have pixel partners so perhaps this is what you’re referring to?
Can you show me where you’re seeing these ‘spam’? Any screenshot would be very helpful.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Senders Email AddressHi @gofigure,
Unfortunately, due to legal regulations, we’re only allowed to send emails under our domain if it’s being sent from our server and because of that, we can’t customize the ‘from’ address.
Instead of ’[email protected]’, is there another AddThis email that would make more sense to you and less spammy?
I apologize for the inconvenience but with that said, let me know if you have any alternative suggestions and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks,
Leland

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Lost share countsHi there,
Can you share an example URL of your website?
Thanks,
Leland
Support Engineer | AddThisVery weird! I do see the missing space in your source code and so far, you’re the first one to report this issue but I still wasn’t able to replicate the issue on my side.
You are right that the code should have a single space within the quote.
I’m going to report this in to our devs but in the meantime, there are 2 viable options to get this up and running for you:
1.) You can add the space yourself within the plugin files, exactly how you described
2.) You can install our script into your footer.php theme template so you can bypass the plugin itself and connect your site directly to AddThis:
This way, you can control your tools straight from the dashboard which has many advantages. You will also be able to view your site’s analytics in the dashboard and overall, this method causes fewer issues than our plugin because in a sense, in terms of processing, we’re essentially taking out the middleman (the plugin).
Thanks,
Leland
Support Engineer | AddThisHi @orlandowebdev,
Thanks for reporting this in!
I wasn’t able to replicate this issue on my end with our latest plugin version.
Can you share the URL of your website where this issue is occurring so I can take a further look?
Thanks,
Leland

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Disable All JS On Front EndHi @orest22,
Currently there is not a setting in the plugin to disable the JS loading on certain pages.
With that said, you can insert our script manually into your footer.php template and write a custom script that only inserts our script on specific page IDs.
Thanks,
Leland
Support Engineer | AddThisHi @randomfreeform,
For Twitter, you will have to use Twitter Cards to set the title, image and description of the page you are sharing:
https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/optimize-with-cards/overview/summaryTwitter maintains their very own WordPress plugin so you can easily generate these Twitter Cards using their plugin:
https://dev.twitter.com/web/wordpressFor Facebook, they use Open Graph tags to gather and render the content within your share dialog:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/#markupYou will have to add these tags in for each page but there are certain plugins like YOAST SEO that make this step a lot easier for you.
I hope that helps!
Thanks,
Leland

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Plugin is using script injectingHi @thomthom44,
I assume that you got your information from this website:
https://computerfixguide.com/completely-remove-s7-addthis-com-virus/With the rise of false information online, I suggest that you reevaluate the credentials and merits of each website you read before believing it as hard facts.
While your accusation that we contain some kind of virus is certainly false, we always appreciate your feedback!
Thanks,
Leland@mmelendeze we hear your frustration and unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to alleviate this issue as this is ESET’s false behavior. If you would like for this to not happen again in the future, you can voice your opinion to ESET’s team to let them know that their false reporting is causing many problems for you and your users.
Thanks,
Leland

Support Engineer | AddThisHi @mmelendeze,
We spoke with ESET last week and they confirmed that this is a false positive:
They said that you will have to update your ESET software (especially the detection engine) for this false alarm to stop.
Thanks,
Leland
