In reply to: [jQuery Pin It Button for Images] Pin It button not showing upThanks so much Marcin. I will contact my computer guy to find out what extensions he added when he switched me from Chrome to Firefox. Simple Social icons is also not working.

In reply to: [jQuery Pin It Button for Images] Pin It button not showing upThe pin it button is also not working on my site, but I think it’s because I switched browsers. It works in Explorer, but not Firefox. I haven’t added any new plug ins and I cleared my cache. I also noticed that Simple Social Icons doesn’t work in Firefox either. Seems kind of crazy.

Thanks for any help!

In reply to: Reader Access to PagesI wrote and asked one of the people having trouble to try it out for me and they said they were still couldn’t open it. I’m going to deactivate my plug ins and see if that helps. Thanks

In reply to: Reader Access to PagesThanks for your repsonses, Ahir.
I checked my code and learned that I had inserted the URL of my draft page, not my published page–duh.
Thanks so much!!!!

In reply to: How to change a thumbnailThanks, yes, the author is blogelina. I’ll check with them.
I don’t have a lot of plugins, but I will try disabling them if I don’t get results from bloglina.
Thanks so much!

In reply to: How to change a thumbnailYes there is. The only time it works is on older posts (from my original Blogger blog) that have no featured image yet. I can go in and pick one. But for all my new posts, it selects it and won’t let me change it. I’ve tried setting it before I publish and after, neither works. It’s allowing me to go through the process of picking or changing the thumbnail, then ignoring my choice.
I just hired someone to move me from Blogger to WordPress a few months ago. I encountered some problems along the way and would rather not have to contact the company that did it for me. However, I don’t understand a lot about WordPress, including the whole matter of “themes.” Do you know how I would go about finding out who the theme’s “provider” is?
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [Jigoshop] Integration with BlogHi,
I resolved my memory problem, but I cannot “see” my shop. I’ve added products but cannot find out how to “turn” my shop on. What am I doing wrong?!!

In reply to: [Jigoshop] Integration with BlogHi,
I just increased my memory to 4GB but the notice saying I only have 40M is still showing up.
Also, I am still unclear whether Jigoshop is the correct plugin for what I’m trying to accomplish–have a store integrated into my blog.
Thanks–

In reply to: [Jigoshop] Integration with BlogHi,
Thanks so much for a quick response.
I read about how to change the memory, but I don’t know what a wp-config php file or site root directory are or how to access them. I had also read that sometimes this doesn’t work and so that’s why I thought I’d go right to my host.
Perhaps you can tell me how to access the site root directory?
So I’m guessing the answers to my questions are yes? Yes, I can open a jioshop store on my blog and yes, a lack of adequate memory will prevent the plug-in from working on my site.
Thanks–

In reply to: Format and Spacing ProblemsHi Linda,
I installed Jetpack and inserted the code you sent me, modified the 25 to 5 and it worked pretty well!!!
By and large my old posts look pretty good, with the spacing in the body of the post nearly perfect and then usually some problems at the end where I have lots of centered info (thumbnails to click on, features, my social media, and my signature). But now it’s allowing me to make edits that [mostly] fix the spacing problems. I will make them post by post as I am able. (I’ll take any further suggestions, if you have any!)
Thanks so much for all your help. I’m feeling much better now about WordPress. I got my photo “problem” fixed and my page views are creeping up closer to what they used to be, and now, with your help, the blog posts look better.
Thank you again!

In reply to: Format and Spacing ProblemsP.S. I can install Jetpack now if you recommend that.

In reply to: Format and Spacing ProblemsYes, there are a bunch of old post images, but there are hundreds and hundreds that are not in my media file. Here’s one: https://adirondackgirlatheart.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/vintage-green-basket-with-lemons-500×481-cover.jpg
I was planning on installing Jetpack, but was going to wait until things are working properly. So, no, I don’t have Jetpack.
Thanks again

In reply to: Format and Spacing ProblemsHi Mork,
Thanks so much for helping me. Yes, it’s just the old posts.
I hired someone to do the transfer for me, so I’m not sure what she may have done as far as unchecking “preserve formatting.” She knows I am very frustrated about the formatting of the old posts and has been trying to help me, but she does not seem to understand what I’m talking about regarding formatting (though I’ve sent her screen shots and explained in detail).
I think if you gave me the piece of code and where to put it, I could send that to her and she could do it for me.
I did add to my code a few times in Blogger, but I was very comfortable there. Everything seems terrible and awkward here in WordPress Land. Your welcome and “promise” that things will get easier were a tremendous blessing to me when I read them ?? Thank you.
Regarding my old blog post images pointing to my Blogger URLS, she had to do that because many of my photos would not transfer to WordPress. She said that was because “Blogger had attached something to the files that prevented them from being transferred.” As a result, she said I could never close my Blogger account. I’m hoping that doesn’t cause me problems in the future :/
Thanks again, Mork, for all your help–you’re a peach–
